We're proud to say that when Atlas National Roofing is on the job, you're working with one of the top repair teams in the industry.
Oftentimes, manufacturers require building owners to uphold a preventative maintenance plan for their roof's warranty. A functional roof is a crucial component of your commercial building's structural integrity. It will protect you from the elements and add aesthetic appeal to your property when properly maintained. However, when your roof falls into disarray, a variety of problems can occur. Keep your eye out for the following signs that your commercial roof needs repair:
Commercial roofs are made with materials meant for outdoor conditions, but too much moisture or heat can cause blistering that allows moisture in, weakening your roof's structure. When this happens, your roof ages prematurely, thereby reducing its ability to protect you and your customers or tenants.
Standing water can have incredibly damaging effects on your commercial roofing system. It can cause leaks that deteriorate your roof's integrity, which leads to water intrusion. When water intrudes on your property, it can cause a litany of health hazards associated with mold and bacteria. When you spot standing water on your roof, your roof's support system may be seriously compromised, especially with wooden materials.
Having a drainage system that works well is crucial for the health of your commercial roof. If scuppers or drains are clogged with debris and waste, water pools on your roof. Gaps in flashing can also cause water to permeate the building. Additionally, worn seams and cracks can give water access inside. Keep a sharp eye out for signs of clogged drains and gaps in your roof's flashing. If you notice these signs, you could need commercial roof repair.
Facility managers and commercial building owners know they'll have to consider roof replacement eventually. This type of service often requires a significant investment and halts day-to-day operations while the new roof is installed.
Fortunately, restoration is a cost-effective alternative to re-roofing for some commercial property owners. By implementing our advanced roof restoration systems, we can help restore your facility's roof membrane, extending its life and saving your money.
However, there is a window of opportunity for roof restoration. If 25% or less of your commercial roof needs to be replaced, restoration could be an attractive option for you.
Our licensed roofing technicians promptly identify problem areas and provide accurate estimates for resealing cracks, crevices, and gaps. Our team can also help eliminate and prevent roof leaks, further extending the lifespan of your commercial roofing system. We make it a point to carry out our roof restoration projects in a way that doesn't interfere with your daily operations or business productivity.
Atlas National Roofing takes a step-by-step approach to discover whether your property is suitable for restoration:
Gather Info: Our team will gather as much info about your building and its roofing system as possible. If suitable, we'll speak with your management team to determine factors like the age of your roof and the impact of previous repairs.
Inspect from Below: This step involves inspecting your underlying roof deck. That way, we can identify concerns like areas of water penetration and advanced degradation of your current roof deck.
Inspect from Above: We'll "walk your roof" to get an understanding of your commercial roof's overall condition. We want to be sure that restoration is a feasible option for your roof.
Assessment: We'll consider everything we've learned from the previous steps and advise you on your restoration options. We'll touch on your current roof and which coatings are appropriate. We can also talk about environmental concerns, how long restoration will last, the potential for tax credits, and the best restoration options for your geographic location.
With the rise of platforms like YouTube, DIY enthusiasts seem to be everywhere. However, regardless of how many DIY videos you study, your skills won't be on par with a professional commercial roofing contractor. Many DIYers claim they can save money by cutting out the pros, but this tactic usually leads to costly mistakes that cause more harm than good.
If you're in need of quality commercial roofing, it's always best to leave it to a reputable, experienced company like Atlas. Here's why:
Building codes in Richardson, TX are regulations drafted to govern how commercial construction projects are handled. When you don't adhere to building codes and try to construct a new roof with an untrained crew, mistakes are made codes are violated. That means you'll have to incur all the losses associated with demolishing the roof, as well as the cost of doing it right.
It makes sense, then, to hire a team of professionals to get the job done right the first time. At Atlas National Roofing, our contractors are always up-to-date on the latest commercial building codes to ensure your roofing projects are completed without any hiccups.
This benefit sounds like a no-brainer, but it deserves to be highlighted because of how important it is. Your safety and your customers' safety should be top of mind when you own a commercial property. Hiring licensed, trained commercial roofing experts keeps you safe by:
Having a properly maintained roof day in and day out. When your commercial roof is in good shape and working correctly, you and your customers are safer.
Commercial roof repair is a dangerous job for novices. A quick search online will bring up dozens of cases in Richardson, TX where DIYers get injured trying to construct or repair their commercial property's roof.
The highest quality craftsmanship only comes with years of hands-on commercial roofing experience. You could watch every roofing DIY roofing video online, but the quality of your work will never match that of a professional with years of work under their belt.
After all, commercial roofing involves much more than a few nails and some elbow grease. You must consider factors like installing ventilation outlets, roof coatings, and drainage options. Every commercial roofing contractor at Atlas is vetted and has years of training and experience, to handle the most complex commercial roofing projects in Richardson, TX.
Budgets are a big deal in the world of commercial roofing. Going over budget can mean the difference between completing a project and waiting for approval on funds. That's why our management team provides accurate estimates, detailed schedules, transparent deadlines, and consistent communication with our clients.
As business owners, we know how hectic day-to-day life can be and how maintaining your roof can be a huge headache. Chef Bob Tam’s Hong Kong and San Francisco roots take a Texas spin in his Prosper restaurant. Fried rice has a Tex-Mex spin showcasing Texas favorite meat - smoked brisket tossed with barbecue sauce, corn, and scallion, topped with pickled red onions, and a creamy mac and cheese sauce with a side of wasabi coleslaw. The pork wontons are not just Sichuan spicy but Flamin’ Hot with a generous sprinkle of the popular snack.
The stars at Highland Noodles in Frisco are Chinese-style noodles of different widths and thicknesses that are hand-pulled, sliced, served in soup, stir-fried, or in sauce. One would be lucky to have dinner and a show, seeing the noodles made fresh in the open kitchen.
Uncle Zhou in Plano showcases traditional Henan cuisine from central China and is known for its noodles. The deceptive simplicity of its “dial oil” hand-drawn wide noodle showcases the kitchen’s noodle-making mastery. Other notable dishes include baked noodles made in-house, fish in a sweet and sour sauce, and dragon eggplant.
A number of the regional dishes from the central province of Hunan at this restaurant look similar to their Sichuan counterparts and pack the heat from chili without the mouth-numbing flavor of Sichuan peppercorns. Thanks to its unforgettable name, the “Unforgettable Combo of Lamb and Fish Filet” is one of the menu’s most tempting orders.
Rice noodles are king here. The restaurant specializes in the flavors of the Huaxi area of Guiyang, the capital of the Guizhou province. The signature beef mifen comes in a spicy hot broth with a kiss of sour and delicate, bouncy rice noodles. Don’t miss out on the yogurt, which is made in-house, or the sour plum drink to help manage the heat from the spicy bowl of noodles.
Traditional Chinese music played on Saturday nights in China Queen in Carrolton adds to the ambiance as diners enjoy plates of hand-made dumplings and xiao long bao alongside braised pork belly with abalone.
Diners here can enjoy northern China-style seasoned meats, seafood, and vegetables on a stick. Beef tendon skewers and the plate of lamb chops are must-orders. Don’t expect to be served rice to pair with this regional delicacy — there is none. Instead, the kitchen offers a choice of noodles, roasted skewered steamed buns, or good old ice-cold bottles of beer as is characteristic of the wheat basket in the north.
Reminiscent of Hong Kong dim sum houses, the expansive ballroom setup is crowded with ten-top tables for celebrating. Get outside the dim sum wheelhouse and try the #27, fried balls of mashed taro filled with pork and mushrooms encased in a nest-like shell. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during weekends and holidays.
Diners are welcomed into this spot by a window cabinet of hung Cantonese-style barbecue filled with glossy mahogany skinned roast ducks, amber steamed chicken, a side of crispy-skinned roast pork, and a mountain of red char siu pork loins. Order any of these to graze on with rice, alongside other Hong Kong-style favorites, including fresh shrimp wonton noodle soup and yang chow fried rice.
Tucked into the massive shopping center at Preston and Royal, this North Dallas institution has a devoted crowd of regulars. Hand-pulled noodles (the chilled dan dan noodles are excellent) and xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are made before diners. And Chinese American favorites like kung pao and sesame chicken get a serious upgrade.
Diners searching for Chinese American favorites, traditional Chinese, and some of the city’s best la main noodles will find it all at Wok Star. As an added touch, chef Charlie Zang, a huge music fan, brought his taste in pop into the space.
Soupy steamed xiao long bao is the star of this Shanghai-style restaurant’s menu. Other stellar regional dishes include the Hong Shao Rou (red braised pork belly with bok choy) and the pan-fried pork buns. Now with two locations: the original in Irving and the second on Lowest Greenville.

Global professional services firm Genpact will cut nearly 1,000 jobs at its Richardson office when a client contract ends in late March, according to a notice made public Monday.
It’s the largest mass layoff affecting a North Texas-based workforce since September, when one of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders axed over 500 jobs in Farmers Branch.
Genpact said in its filing with the Texas Workforce Commission that 964 employees will be let go on March 31. Nearly five years ago, the company laid off 124 workers after a client cut its contract.
In a statement to The Dallas Morning News, Genpact said it intends to treat the workers “fairly and respectfully,” although it didn’t provide further details.

“Responding to rapidly changing client needs is a standard part of Genpact’s agile operations model,” the company’s statement said. “Richardson remains a strategic market for us, and we have several clients for whom we manage services in this location.”
The filing of layoff notices with TWC is required under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. It requires employers with 100 or more full-time workers to provide a 60-day notice before laying off 50 or more people at a single site. It’s meant to give workers time to look for a new job.
Headquartered in New York, the consultancy group employs more than 115,000 workers and works with over 800 clients. It provides data, artificial intelligence and technology services, as well as digital operations.
In its most recent quarterly financial report, Genpact said it expected to finish 2022 with just over $4.3 billion in revenue. In the three-month period that ended Sept. 30, its revenue was up 9% year-over-year.
“In these times, we believe the essential and non-discretionary nature of most of our services makes us even more valuable to our clients,” said CEO Tiger Tyagarajan at the time.
Year-to-date, the company’s share price is up more than 1%, closing at $48.23 on Monday.
After a dramatic drop in mass layoffs last year, Genpact joins a growing list of Dallas-Fort Worth employers cutting workers in recent months across industry sectors.
PepsiCo said it would make workforce reductions last month in an effort to simplify its organization, including at its North America snacks and packaged-foods business in Plano. Gamestop, the Grapevine-based retailer, announced it would see another round of layoffs ahead of the holidays. More than 350 IT workers in Irving are expected to be let go in the coming weeks.
Job cuts in the tech and finance sectors have dominated recent downsizings, with Facebook parent Meta, Amazon, Twitter, Cisco, Goldman Sachs and Microsoft all reducing staff. Microsoft said last week that it plans to cut 10,000 jobs, or about 5% of its workforce this year.
“The tech sector is undergoing significant changes as a result of recession fears,” said Andrew Challenger, labor expert and senior vice president of outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. “We haven’t seen this activity since the dot.com bust in 2001 and 2002.”
His firm tallied 97,171 job cuts by technology companies last year – the highest for the sector since 2002.
